Jan Koster is a Director and the Technology and Risk Management Practice Leader. He has over 20 years experience in IT Risk Management including security, business resumption/disaster recovery, IT and operational risk management, SOX testing and review, and internal audit for the banking, financial services, manufacturing, education, insurance, and healthcare industries

Prior to joining Accume Partners, Jan was the Managing Director for a mid-size national accounting firm, responsible for developing and expanding the Technology Risk Management Services practice in the New England region, managing approximately 50 engagements and utilizing industry and professional guidelines such as CoBit, GLBA, FFIEC, SAS70, the Patriot Act, and Sarbanes-Oxley. Jan also previously served as the senior vice president/functional audit director for major national bank, responsible for multiple business units, including Company Services Group, Global Technology Services, Enterprise Program Office, Facilities and Security consisting of planning and executing and coordinating the technology and operational audit plan, assisting in completing all department strategies, Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance testing and monitoring, and developing a process for high risk areas.

Jan holds significant experience in desktop & LAN information systems, re-engineering the LAN/WAN administration/maintenance function and COBIT and is proficient in Dutch and German

Jan is a graduate of the City of London Polytechnic (Business Administration) and MEAO- Business school of Holland (Business and Languages)
